Located on a rocky outcrop on Bowen Island, the house for a single family hovers gently over the rock. Cantilevered forms extend over the terrain with the building accepting the rugged terrain.
A linear split level layout subtly cranks westward to open views towards the inlet. Exaggerated eaves extend beyond the facade to protect the wood cladding and provide solar shading and privacy. An expansive patio sweeps across the interior, with an open kitchen and living room hall with vaulted ceilings and glulam beams. Concrete floors, floor to ceiling glazing, and dark wood paneling on the interior create a cozy intimate space by the fireplace.
